Quite light, I don’t know if it’s youth literature or for “young adults,” as it’s called now, but it has some elements of Harry Potter, the Twilight Saga and Vampire Chronicles (by Anne Rice, not the TV show).
I also don’t know if it’s the first in a saga, but the ending hints at it unless the author didn’t know how to solve the plot.
The protagonist spends most of her time exhausted and sleeping but, otherwise, the novel is entertaining.
